Janet Irankunda Graduates from Kindergarten
In July 2023, we learned about a family of 5 children who lived in absolute squalor. The youngest of these was Janet and the first photo we received of her, she stared lifeless into the camera. Now, with a sponsor, she has adequate food and clothing, started pre-school and lives at the Victory Africa Ministries dormitory. She recently graduated from Kindergarten to Primary One. Here she is giving a speech on the occasion of her graduation. As our friend and director of Victory Africa Ministries Edward Kanyesigye said, “This is not just school support. This is dignity restored. This is childhood restored. This is her future rewritten. Because someone like you reached out.”
Daphne Ahabwomugisha Graduates from Law School
Daphne was an abandoned child. At the age of five she was left to be cared for by her aged grandmother who had no resources. But a sponsor stepped into Daphne’s life—offering her an opportunity to stay at Akanyijuka Children’s home and to be educated.
This same abandoned child just graduated from law school and is determined to stand as a pillar of peace and justice in Uganda. Her success story is a powerful testament to how education, mentorship, and support can transform not only one life but entire communities. This story is powerful, but it is not rare. Research now shows that children in Victory Africa Ministries programs grow notably in confidence, resilience, moral character, and relational health.

Origins of Lekishon Outreach
These photos tell the story of the origins of Lekishon Outreach, rooted in the friendships of Therese Picado and Steve Curtis with Ole Ronkei and Renoi Sankei of Maasai Lands, Kenya and Edward Kanyesigye and Peace Komugisha of Kabale, Uganda.
Lekishon Outreach featured on local news station, KVAL:
